A new My Hero Academia anime project is on the way as part of the ongoing My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary celebration. The newly announced special short anime is titled I am a hero too, adapting a special one-shot manga drawn by Kohei Horikoshi.
The original manga was included in My Hero Academia: Ultra Age, a fan book released in December 2024 after the conclusion of the original manga’s serialization. Now that story is officially getting animated, giving fans another new chapter tied to the world of My Hero Academia as the anime marks 10 years.
I am a hero too focuses on Eri after time has passed following the events of the original work and the anime finale. Now a high school student, Eri visits U.A. High School, with the special depicting a moment from that day. For longtime fans, the setup offers a meaningful look at a character whose growth has been closely tied to some of the series’ most emotional arcs.
The announcement adds another piece to the ongoing 10th anniversary celebration for My Hero Academia, which continues to spotlight the series’ legacy and the fans who have followed its heroes from the beginning. Further details for I am a hero too, including release timing, will be announced at a later date.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the My Hero Academia Collection available now at the TOHO animation Store!
