TOHO animation titles are having a big moment at the 2026 Anime Awards. This year’s nominee slate includes My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, The Apothecary Diaries Season 2, Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, SPY x FAMILY Season 3, and Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, giving TOHO animation a wide presence across one of anime’s biggest international awards events.
Among these nominees, My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON and The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 are both in the running for Anime of the Year, putting them at the center of this year’s awards conversation. Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 and SPY x FAMILY Season 3 also picked up nominations in categories including Best Continuing Series, while Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is also represented in Best Action, and SPY x FAMILY Season 3 appears in Best Comedy, Best Slice of Life, and Best Ending Sequence. In addition, ‘Beautiful Colors’ by OneRepublic from Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 is nominated for Best Ending Sequence, and Suika from Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE is nominated for Best Anime "Must Protect At All Costs" Character
This edition marks the 10th annual Anime Awards, with voting open now ahead of the ceremony in Tokyo on May 23, 2026. Voting closes on April 14, 2026, giving anime fans a chance to take part in one of the medium’s biggest global celebrations while supporting the series that stood out most over the past year.
