TOHO animation has announced the English dub cast and streaming date for Though I Am an Inept Villainess, bringing the imperial court fantasy series to English-speaking audiences.
The English dub will become available on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix on Sunday, July 26, at 8:45 a.m. PT.
A new English-dub trailer offers the first preview of the English cast’s performances and a fresh look at the series.
Brianna Knickerbocker voices Kou Reirin, while Rebecca Wang voices Shu Keigetsu. The English cast also includes Kaiji Tang as Ei Gyoumei, Aleks Le as Shin-u, Lizzie Freeman as Leelee, and VTuber and recording artist Mori Calliope as Kou Tousetsu.
Based on the light novel by Satsuki Nakamura, Though I Am an Inept Villainess is set in an imperial court where five clans compete to produce the next empress. The story follows Kou Reirin, a beloved noblewoman who is suddenly swapped into the body of the condemned villainess Shu Keigetsu. Forced to survive under a new identity, Reirin must navigate court politics, shifting alliances, and betrayal while searching for a way to reclaim her life.
The series is directed by Mitsue Yamasaki, with series composition by Yoshiko Nakamura, character design by Ai Kikuchi, music by Yukari Hashimoto, and animation production by Doga Kobo.
